Sports Turf Completes Artificial Turf Renovation at Young Harris College's Soccer and Lacrosse Field

Sports Turf Company, a specialty sports construction and surfacing company, is proud to announce the completion of Young Harris College’s soccer and lacrosse artificial turf field. The renovation included removing the existing artificial turf surface and installing a higher performing, more durable system.
The college’s women’s soccer team will have the honor to debut the new turf at the team’s first home regular season match against Mars Hill University on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 5 p.m.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled with our new state-of-the-art playing surface at our soccer and lacrosse facility,” Young Harris College Athletic Director Aaron Bessey said. “I give our sincere gratitude to Sports Turf and AstroTurf for its high-quality product, timely installation and second-to-none customer service. Mountain Lion student-athletes couldn’t be more eager to get out there and protect our new home turf.”
Sports Turf Company removed the existing artificial turf system on Young Harris College’s soccer and lacrosse field and installed a durable and performance-based system. The system features Astro Turf’s 3D Decade System, with an industry leading 60 ounces of fiber. AstroTurf’s Decade system combines slit film and monofilament fibers. The RootZone layer of texturized fibers provides optimum durability and better shock absorbency with a 10-year warranty.
“We’re honored to work with AstroTurf to replace this first-generation Rootzone system, which has provided 11 years of playability for the Mountain Lions,” Sports Turf Company President Todd Wiggins said. “It’s been a great privilege to work alongside Young Harris to continue implementing durable, high performing systems for both its soccer and lacrosse programs.”
