WHITESBURG, Ga. (April 22, 2019) – Sports Turf Company,a sports facility construction and specialty surfacing company, is a proud sponsor of the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) 5A and 6A Boys & Girls State Track Championships. Sports Track Company, a division of Sports Turf, will unveil the latest in technology enhancements through a demonstration of the Rekortan Smart training system on Thursday, May 9, at Carrollton High School. Specializing in all different types of sport surfaces, Sports Turf installs natural grass and artificial turf football, baseball, soccer fields and more, as well as tennis courts and track surfaces.
“We are proud to support high school coaches and athletes from across the state,” said Todd Wiggins, President of Sports Turf Company. “In track and field competition, hundredths of a second can make the difference between winning and losing. This technology, exclusively offered by Sports Track Company, helps young athletes train smarter, which leads to better opportunities for success in competition.”
Rekortan Smart is the world’s first intelligent running track and provides athletes and coaches with the perfect solution for increasing effectiveness and efficiency during training. The system is a sophisticated training tool that utilizes sets of magnetic “gates” and built-in recording systems to log performance insights such as running and interval times, distance, step frequency, step length and step quantity. In addition, multiple athletes can train at the same time. Plus, there is no set-up or dismantling required for the durable, weather-resistant system.
“Rekortan is excited to partner with Sports Track Company on this great event,” said Guy Thomas, Director of Rekortan Track Operations. “As Rekortan celebrates its 50th anniversary, we take pride in how we have revolutionized the track world with quality and innovation. Our reputation for being an innovator continues with the development of Rekortan Smart. We can’t wait to demonstrate to all of the attendees what this state-of-the-art training tool is capable of doing.”
During the statewide meet, Sports Turf will be offering a special promotional program for those in attendance. If a school decides to resurface their track with the company’s Rekortan G10 or G13 system within 12 months from the meet, then they willreceive the Rekortan Smart basic system. During the event, Sports Turf Company will make a $500 donation to a participating high school’s track program, drawn at random from among all coaches who register at http://info.sportsturf.net/trackdonation.
Building dreams one field and track at a time, Sports Turf guides schools through the entire process of selecting the best options for a facility, expert installation and ongoing commitment through its lifetime, with a focus on safety, performance and durability.
