Sports Turf Company, a specialty sports construction and surfacing company, is proud to announce it has completed the renovation of Auburn University’s softball field. Sports Turf recently completed both the indoor artificial turf field and the two natural grass fields at the football practice facility.
The renovation of the softball field at Auburn University included removing and installing new artificial turf behind home plate and extending it to include foul territory and around the warning track. With the extension of the artificial turf areas, Sport Turf updated the grades and changed the slopes to improve the playability and performance of the field. The outfield grass was removed and replaced with Tifway Sod. Infill mix was replaced on the infield to top off the renovation to the Tiger’s home field.
“We’re excited to present the Tiger’s softball team with an enhanced facility,” said Sports Turf Company President Todd Wiggins. “The improvements made on the softball field may seem little in scope, but they improved the fields playability, performance and overall aesthetic.”
