Sports Turf Company, a specialty sports construction and surfacing company, is proud to announce it has been awarded the artificial turf renovation of Pike County High School’s Pirate Stadium. The state-of-the-art system will provide student-athletes with a premier surface optimized for safety, durability, and performance ahead of the 2026–2027 school year.

“Sports Turf Company is excited to provide a premium playing surface for the Pirates," said Todd Wiggins, CEO of Sports Turf Company. "It is a privilege to partner with Pike County High School to provide an upgraded facility to support the future of their student-athletes.”

Sports Turf Company is renovating the existing natural grass stadium field at Pike County High School into an artificial turf system that will set a new standard in safety, durability, and performance. The advanced system will feature an AstroTurf RootZone® System, a Brock YSR shock pad, and BrockFILL. Both the shock pad and BrockFILL are engineered to optimize athlete safety by providing superior impact absorption. As a sustainably grown and harvested product from Georgia, BrockFILL is an engineered, organic wood-particle infill that lowers surface temperatures by 20°F to over 40°F compared to traditional crumb rubber. By utilizing moisture for an evaporative cooling effect, this highly durable material creates a safer, cooler, and more natural-feeling playing surface.

Sports Turf Company specializes in the construction and installation of elite athletic facilities, including natural grass and artificial turf fields, tennis courts, and track surfaces.
