Sports Turf to Renovate Athletic Facilities at Three Newton County High Schools

Sports Turf Company, a specialty sports construction and surfacing company, is proud to announce it has been awarded the artificial turf field and track renovation for three Newton County High Schools. The three Newton County Schools include:
- Newton High School- Covington, GA
- Eastside High School- Covington, GA
- Alcovy High School- Covington, GA
Sports Turf Company will renovate all three high school’s existing natural grass stadium fields into an artificial turf system focused on safety, durability, and performance. The new surfaces will feature AstroTurf’s RootZone 3D Blend HD turf system, Brock shock pad and organic BrockFILL infill. AstroTurf’s RootZone 3D Blend is a performance artificial turf system that combines slit film and monofilament fibers with a RootZone layer of texturized fibers for optimum durability and better shock absorbency. The Brock shock pad and BrockFILL are specifically engineered to optimize safety for athletes during impacts to the surface. BrockFILL is the latest in organic infills and is sustainably grown and harvested in Georgia.

In addition to the field renovations, the existing eight-lane running track surface at Newton High School will be resurfaced with Rekortan M synthetic track surfacing. While all three high schools will receive new Discus throwing and shot put areas.
