Sports Turf to Construct Indoor Facility Field at Valdosta High School

Sports Turf Company, a leading specialty sports construction and surfacing firm, is proud to announce it has been awarded the contract for the new indoor facility field at Valdosta High School. This marks the fourth facility project entrusted to Sports Turf Company by Valdosta City Schools within the last four years.

Following the successful conversion of the Wildcats’ natural grass practice field to artificial turf in late 2022, Sports Turf returned in 2023 to begin construction on the high-performing artificial turf baseball and softball field complex. The momentum continued into 2024, with Sports Turf executing an artificial system replacement at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium. The previous surface was removed and replaced with a cutting-edge, high-performance turf system engineered for superior durability and athlete safety.

Sports Turf Company will construct an indoor artificial turf field that focuses on safety, durability, and performance. The artificial turf system will feature AstroTurf’s RootZone 3D Blend HD turf system, Brock shock pad, and infill. AstroTurf’s RootZone 3D Blend turf system is a performance artificial turf system that combines slit film and monofilament fibers with a RootZone layer of texturized fibers for optimum durability and better shock absorbency. The Brock shock pad is specifically engineered to optimize safety for athletes during impacts to the surface.

"We are honored to extend our partnership with a school system that demonstrates such a profound commitment to its athletic programs and student-athlete facilities," said Todd Wiggins, CEO of Sports Turf Company. "By providing high-performance, durable facilities, we are dedicated to supporting the safety and continued success of their renowned athletic programs."

Sports Turf specializes in the construction and installation of sports surfaces, including natural grass and artificial turf fields, tennis courts and track surfaces. In addition, Sports Turf Company serves as a consultant and owners’ advocate through the entire process of selecting the best facility solutions and surfaces to meet owners’ specific needs.
