Sports Turf Company, a specialty sports construction and surfacing company, is proud to announce it has been awarded Cherokee High School’s athletic facility complex. The facility for the Warriors will include:
The Warriors’ artificial turf fields will feature AstroTurf’s 3D Decade Turf system, Brock Powerbase YSR shock pad, and organic BrockFILL infill. AstroTurf’s Decade system is a performance artificial turf that combines slit film and monofilament fibers, alongside an industry-leading 10-year warranty. The Brock Powerbase YSR shock pad and BrockFILL are specifically engineered to optimize safety for athletes during impacts to the surface. BrockFILL is the latest in organic infills and is sustainably grown and harvested in Georgia.
Sports Turf will construct a natural grass practice field that will include a four inch rootzone and TifTuf Bermuda due to its ability to establish faster and recover quickly.
The running track at the new Cherokee High School will feature a Rekortan B synthetic running surface. Rekortan B, the single-layer 13 millimeter paved-in-place track system, is a durable and economical solution for high schools.
“Sports Turf Company is honored to continue our work in Cherokee County,” said Sports Turf Company President Todd Wiggins. “Cherokee County Schools continue to lead the state by selecting better performing, more durable artificial turf systems for their athletes, with extended warranties.”
