Sports Turf Company, a specialty sports construction and surfacing company, is proud to announce it has been awarded the baseball stadium at King’s Ridge Christian School. The full scope of the project will include mass grading, retaining walls, fencing, lighting, brick backstop, brick dugouts, and parking lot improvements.
In partnership with King’s Ridge Christian School and special guest, founder and Major League Baseball Hall of Famer John Smoltz, Sports Turf will be onsite for a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, April 25 at 11:30 a.m. at 13600 Cogburn Road.
“We’re honored that King’s Ridge Christian School has entrusted Sports Turf with a project so monumental to the school and community,” Sports Turf Company President Todd Wiggins said. “This facility will be built on par with a collegiate-level baseball field to further propel the Tigers’ baseball program forward.”
Sports Turf Company will install a complete under-drain system and a United States Golf Association (USGA) sand rootzone over lateral drain lines on the full-size baseball stadium for the Tigers. In addition to field work, retaining walls, fencing, lighting, a full brick backstop, dugouts and parking lot improvements will complete the facility.
“We are so excited to see our vision for our baseball field become a reality,” Head of School for King’s Ridge Christian School said Dr. Edward Spurka. “We are blessed for our amazing past and present families and members of our school community that helped us complete our Be Bold Campaign and create a Christ-centered athletic complex that will welcome all future KRCS baseball and softball players.”
