Sports Turf Company, a specialty sports construction and surfacing company, is proud to announce the completion of the artificial turf renovation at Pike County High School’s Pirate Stadium. The upgraded facility provides the Pirates with a premier playing surface engineered for safety, durability and performance ahead of the 2026–2027 school year.

Sports Turf Company transformed the stadium’s existing natural grass field into a state-of-the-art artificial turf system featuring the AstroTurf RootZone® System, a Brock YSR shock pad and BrockFILL organic infill.
The advanced system was selected to provide enhanced impact absorption, long-term durability and consistent performance. The Brock YSR shock pad and BrockFILL are specifically engineered to help optimize athlete safety by reducing impacts to the playing surface.
Sustainably grown and harvested in Georgia, BrockFILL is an engineered organic wood-particle infill designed to create a cooler, safer and more natural-feeling playing surface. By utilizing moisture to create an evaporative cooling effect, BrockFILL can lower surface temperatures by 20°F to more than 40°F compared to traditional crumb-rubber infill.
With construction officially complete, Pirate Stadium is ready to welcome Pike County student-athletes and fans for the upcoming season.
