Sports Turf Company renovated all three high schools’ existing natural grass stadium fields into artificial turf systems focused on safety, durability, and performance. The new surfaces feature AstroTurf’s RootZone 3D Blend HD turf system, Brock shock pad, and organic BrockFILL infill. AstroTurf’s RootZone 3D Blend is a performance artificial turf system that combines slit film and monofilament fibers with a RootZone layer of texturized fibers for optimum durability and better shock absorbency. The Brock shock pad and BrockFILL are specifically engineered to optimize safety for athletes during impacts to the surface. BrockFILL is the latest in organic infills and is sustainably grown and harvested in Georgia.
“Sports Turf is proud to deliver premium surfaces at all three high schools and to see these highly anticipated facilities come to fruition for the community,” said Sports Turf Company CEO Todd Wiggins. “It has been a privilege to provide safer, higher-performing and more durable facilities for the student-athletes of Newton County Schools.”
In addition to the field renovations, the existing eight-lane running track surface at Newton High School was resurfaced with Rekortan M synthetic track surfacing, and all three high schools received new discus throwing and shot-put areas.
